A 2007 graduate of the Memphis College of Art (obviously my very own educational facility), and the work that attracted me the most was the illustrations she has to offer, especially the ones focused on junk food; popsicles, marshmallows, and Pop Tarts. Their forms are playful and well-defined, and offer the viewer somewhat of an escape, if only temporary and visual. They also seem provide and indulgent quality that appears to pay homage to the sugar rush each of these things are prone to giving us, and prove to be the ONLY guilt-free snack.
